***First and foremost there is no such thing as full coverage. All insurance policies are broken down into different coverages, of which we will discuss different types of coverage below. In saying this when shopping for insurance be sure that the price quote you are getting is for the same coverage you currently carry.

***Collision coverage-Collision Insurance will reimburse the insured for any damage sustained to their personal automobile that is due to the fault of the insured driver. This coverage has probably the largest impact on your premiums, the larger deductible you carry on collision will have the greatest effect on price reduction on your premiums. Our advise is to carry as large of a deductible as you can afford to pay in the event of a loss. Keeping in mind that accidents seem to happen at the worst of times, carry what you can afford to pay tomorrow.

***Liability coverageAny type of insurance policy that protects an individual or business from the risk that they may be sued and held legally liable for something such as malpractice, injury or negligence. Liability insurance policies cover both legal costs and any legal payouts for which the insured would be responsible if found legally liable. In the state of GA. liability limits are as follows 25/50/25, meaning $25,000 for bodily injury per person with a $50,000 maximum for all and the last number $25,000 for property damage, such as the other parties vehicle or personal property. In our opinion this is not enough coverage. We would ask you two questions- 1. How much medical care can you get for $25,000 in the event of a serious accident? 2. How many new cars today cost much more than $25,000? Liability insurance is what protects you from getting sued and loosing all things you have worked so hard for.

***Comprehensive coverage-Is insurance coverage that helps pay for losses to an insured car due to fire, theft, or other losses that are not the result of a collision as stated in the insured's policy. In most states this is an optional coverage and is not usually a required coverage. (note: Colliding with an animal, hail storms and rocks striking windshields falls under comprehensive insurance coverage)  Comprehensive is one of the least expensive coverages you can purchase, carrying a large deductible on comprehensive saves very little money. For example to raise from say $100 to $500 deductible would probably save in the neighborhood of $30 annually, check with your carrier for exact amount. In most cases we would advise that when your vehicle is paid off and you drop collision coverage to still carry comprehensive due to the small premium.

***Rental coverage-Rental car coverage is another type of insurance that is relatively inexpensive. But with the technology involved in the repair of todays high tech cars a substantial impact could take as much as a month to repair. In this case could you afford to be without your vehicle for 30 days, if the answer is no than you need rental car coverage.

***Med pay coverage-type of auto insurance covering medical and funeral expenses resulting from an accident for the policyholder and any passengers riding with the policyholder. MedPay also covers the policyholder for any accident in which he is a pedestrian. MedPay provides coverage regardless of who is at fault. Most people assume that if they are injured in an auto accident their auto insurance covers their medical bills. But if you do not have med-pay coverage it does not.

***Uninsured motorist coverage-An insurance policy or supplemental providing coverage to a motorist and/or his family in the event of a car accident with another driver who either has no car insurance or does not provide it on request. Uninsured motorist insurance only provides coverage if the policyholder is not at fault in the accident. With GA. law requiring everyone to have liability insurance everyone assumes that all drivers have insurance. Nothing could be further from the truth, you pass cars everyday on the road that do not have insurance. So by all means carry uninsured motorist.
